Welcome to my blog!

Hello, I am David Karibe, a hardware and firmware engineer who used to write step by step instructional articles on an earlier iteration of this blog. I got more busy in life that I could not write much and as a result the blog went down. I studied Applied Physics, specializing in microprocessor technologies and instrumentation. I worked for a while in academia and later moved to industry. Now I mainly write firmware for solar powered IoT devices.

My main interests are Linux, RTOSes as well as baremetal development with low power ARM-based micro-controllers and wireless technologies (as well as PICs, ESP21 and Raspberry PIs). I have lots of experience working with LTE modems for connectivity and a bit of BLE and WiFi. I more generally deal with low-level drivers for sensors and all kinds of control interfaces. I have recently dipped my toes into the AI wave by taking the deep learning specialization on Coursera with the aim of getting a good background and hopefully later dive into edge AI.

My aim with the reboot of this blog is to document the development of any tools (hardware or firmware) that I either come across or design myself. I hope that my humble contribution will help save someone time while working on a project, hobby or otherwise.
